Frequently Asked Questions

The Smallcakes Houston team takes great care to provide you with a delicious, moist, creative dessert for your event. To help ensure your event is a sweet success, here are a few important care instructions:

  • Order Ahead: We bake 15 to 20 different cupcake varieties fresh daily to available at our shop, but if you'd like a large quantity or a particular flavor, order ahead to ensure we have what you need for your event. Cakes are available by special order only so contact our shop to discuss your cake design. A few days notice is typically sufficient for weekday orders (Mondays-Thursdays) but we do tend to book up two to three weeks in advance for weekend orders (Fridays-Sundays). A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking your reservation to secure the order.

  • Handle with Care: Carry your order straight supporting the weight of the package. Secure your baked goods on a flat surface in your vehicle and drive carefully so as to reduce the risk of tilting, tipping, falling, or shifting.

  • Keep it Fresh: Smallcakes products are best enjoyed fresh on the day you pick up your order, but if your order is for a later date, it is important to keep your cake or cupcakes at room temperature unless otherwise instructed by our baking team. Refrigeration may cause the cake or cupcakes to dry out.

  • We Deliver: Delivery may be available upon request at a fee. If your order is being delivered, payment for the balance of your order must be received two days prior to the event date.

  • May Contain...: Our products may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens. Please make your event guests aware of potential allergens.

  • 50 Shades of Gray: True matching of colors cannot be guaranteed but the best effort will be made. Shades of blue, purple, red, pink and gray may fade or darken.

  • Top That!: Ornaments, toppers, and ribbon can be brought to Smallcakes up to two days before your order date. Topping cake with ornaments or toys that are too heavy or not secured properly may cause damage to the cake. Please consult with our baking team if you have questions over the sizing of your toppers.

  • Refunds and Store Credits: Store credits will be issued as a gift certificate that may be used in part or in full by the recipient at our location. Refunds in cash may be picked up in store. Refunds by credit card/debit card will be processed by our staff and may take up to 3-7 business days to be reflected back on the card account due to bank processing times.
